I love watching my Fort Worth kiddos practice for their track meets. Although they say they do not enjoy it, I occasionally catch glimpses of them finding some joy in the run. This is not their preferred sport, but we felt it is a good foundation for any sport they decide to play in the future. Being homeschooled and meeting at a church facility two days a week, we do not have our own facilities. We must practice where we can. I admire the coaches always hustling to find us a location.

Sometimes we get to practice at an actual public-school track. That is very fancy. My personal favorite is Haslet Park, which is where we are today. Alexa was the first to break the elementary record for the 200M. This ignited a fire in the boys, and they soon begin breaking records. I love the smile on her face. We work to remember the value of excellence.

Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Hebrews 12:1 encourages us to “Run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” I love the training that running provides, both physically and spiritually. When it is hard, and it hurts keep pushing forward. Keep running my little arrows. It will be worthwhile.
